There is nothing basic about the taste of this bright, delicious vinaigrette.
Change the flavor of either the oil or the vinegar and get a brand new flavor!
5-6 tablespoons The Olive Scene medium Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tablespoons of The Olive Scene White Balsamic Vinegar of choice (a dark balsamic vinegar can be used, it will create a dark vinaigrette)
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 clove crushed garlic
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
In a small bowl, whisk together the vinegar, mustard, garlic, salt and pepper.
Slowly add the olive oil while whisking.
Taste by dipping a piece of lettuce in the dressing and adjust seasonings if needed.
*Other additions: chopped scallion, fresh herbs, grated cheese.
Simple, you bet, but this straightforward recipe will blow away any store bought salad dressing on the market.
