Pomegranate Balsamic Martini
What a way to honor a martini! The combination of the balsamic vinegar with the citrus syrup is a win-win in this cocktail.
Ingredients:
Martini:
2 oz. high quality vodka
1 tablespoon citrus simple syrup (recipe below)
1 tablespoon of lime juice
1 tablespoon of The Olive Scene Pomegranate Balsamic Vinegar
1 teaspoon pomegranate seeds
1 small sprig basil leaves
1 curl of lime peel
Simple Syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon orange juice
1 teaspoon orange zest
Directions:
Make simple syrup:
Mix water, sugar and orange zest in a small sauce pan and simmer for 3 minutes.
Cool completely. Store unused syrup in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Make Martini:
Add pomegranate seeds to a martini glass
Add vodka, simple syrup, lime juice and balsamic vinegar along with ice to a martini shaker.
Shake martini and pour into glass
Add a curl of lime peel and a sprig of basil to the rim of the glass.
Serve
If you want your martini to have a hint of herb, add a chopped basil leaf to the simple syrup before simmering, and then strain out the basil.
